Toshiba is jumping on the Centrino 2 bandwagon with the release of the new Toshiba Tecra M10 laptop and Tecra A10 laptop. The new 14.1-inch Tecra M10 laptop and 15.4-inch A10 laptop each come equipped with some pretty impressive technologies, including Intel Centrino 2 with vPro; EasyGuard technology that offers HDD protection, a spill-resistant keyboard, a SmartCard reader, fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module for security; a 1.3-megapixel webcam with business card reader software; eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port; a sleep-and-charge USB port; and the option to add a 64GB or 120GB solid state drive. Computer giant Dell has officially announced the release of some revamped Vostro business laptops – the Dell Vostro 1310 laptop, the Dell Vostro 1510 laptop and the Dell Vostro 1710 laptop – which will all be available in North America next month. The makeover, spurred by small-business customer feedback, includes thinner and lighter designs, and more security features over comparable competitive laptops. The trio will feature slot-loading disc drives, fingerprint readers, the Trusted Platform Module 1.2, and pre-installed McAfee Total Protection for Small Business. The Vostro 1310 laptop is a 13.3-inch machine, weighing 4.6 pounds, and is priced from $749. The Vostro 1510 laptop is a 15-incher weighing in at 5.7 pounds, priced starting from $599.
