Dell Vostro laptop: cheap & super loaded - buy it now for college!
Found in the 'small business' section, the new Dell Vostro laptop series are priced to sell fast, and they are loaded with features (dual cpu, huge hard drives, tons of memory and more). For the price, I find them to be best for college students as well. What also is great is that Vostro is offered in 4 different setups for every need out there. As of July 11, Vostra laptops are priced from $449 to $799 after instant rebates, with base specifications ranging from 15.4" display, 60GB hard drive, 512MB memory in Vostro 1000 to 17" widescreen, 120GB hard drive and 1GB memory in Vostro 1700. And the latter one is still under $800. Wow. These are definitely my best pick as of July 2007.
For a college student or for even more than just basic computing, buy Vostro 1000 for $449 with the base setup and save $125 through Dell Small Business! You don't really need to have a business to buy it. Use your own name instead.
Some important details: Dell Vostro 1000 laptop comes with 4 USB ports, ExpressCard slot and 3-in-1 Memory Card Reader - it's very up-to-date in terms of external connectivity options!
