Toshiba Unveils Its New Portégé and Tecra Laptops
Since Toshiba’s big Portégé reveal last summer, they’ve been busy at work with a handful of new designs. “The new Portégé laptops are even lighter, says Jerome Kudera, Toshiba Product Manager, “but more importantly, are more powerful, while our premium Tecra R10 is the fastest and most secure Toshiba laptop ever.” The Toshiba Portégé R600, A600 and M750 laptops and the Tecra R10 laptop are a force to be reckoned with, so here’s the scoop. The sleek and slim Portégé R600 laptop is the ultra-mobile one in the bunch, weighing it at just 2.1 pounds; sporting a choice of Core 2 Duo processors; and ranging between $1,499 and $3,200. For the cost-conscious laptopper, the Portégé A600 might be more up your alley, which comes with a choice of Core 2 Duo processors and a GMA X4500 graphics controller. If you’re looking for tablet function in your laptop, the Portégé M750 convertible laptop is worth checking out. Finally, the Tecra R10 laptop comes with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo SP9400 processor, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M graphics, 4GB DDR2 RAM, a 200GB HDD and a $1,999 price tag. No word on when these cool laptops will be coming stateside, but they’ll be available soon in Canada. Toshiba
