Laptoppers want “mini” and they’re getting it in droves. Among the newest mini laptops released is the Kohninsha SC3 ultra-mobile laptop, tipping the scales at a feather-light 1.7 pounds. Portability meets performance in the new SC3 laptop. This laptop boasts a seven-inch rotating display, and features a 1.3 GHz Intel Atom processor; a 60GB hard disk drive and up to 2GB RAM. New Asus Eee PC 904 and 905 Laptops with Bigger Keyboards, More Memory

With the “mini” trend overtaking the laptop world, Asus has made a refreshing announcement – the new Asus Eee PC 904 laptop and the Eee PC 905 laptop will come equipped with a larger keyboard compared to what’s on offer from its ultra-mobile counterparts. The 8.9-inch laptop will actually boast a keyboard typically found the 10.2-inch laptop models, adding “user friendly” to the long list of great features that this little laptop has got going. First spotted at Taiwan’s Computex 2008, the new Amtek Elego ultra-mobile laptop has got its sites set stateside. The 8.9-inch Elego mini laptop weighs just 2.1 pounds and comes with a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom processor, up to 1GB RAM, up to 4GB SSD or a SATA hard drive, and built-in 802.11b/g wireless connectivity. The Aware Electronics A-Pad convertible laptop is a seven-incher running on the Aday5G 800MHz X86 processor and featuring 4GB of NAND Flash, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth with optional 3G and GPS, a built-in webcam, dual USB ports, an SD card slot, and the LINOS Linux operating system. Everex CE2A1 and CW0A1 Ultra-Mobile PC Laptops Offer CPU and OS Options
First International Computer, the parent company of U.S.-based Everex, will be releasing a couple of ultra-mobile PC laptops very soon under the Everex brand, and has taken its opportunity at Computex 2008 to introduce the Everex CE2A1 laptop and the Everex CW0A1 laptop. Featuring the choice of a Via C7-M processor or Intel's new Atom processor, the new CE2A1 and CW0A1 laptops each also come quipped with 2GB RAM and up to 160GB of hard-drive space. The laptops boast a compact 8.9-inch display and sport a 1.3-megapixel camera, and under the hood you’ll find VGA, Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports and an ExpressCard slot. Connectivity options include 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0. As for the question of operating system, the CW0A1 laptop is compatible with Windows XP or Linux, while with the CE2A1 laptop you can also add Windows Vista Basic to those choices. First 10-incher with Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor – MSI Wind Laptop

MSI has finally officially released the new MSI Wind Laptop at Computex, and it’s everything we hoped it would be. The Wind laptop is the first 10-incher to boast the new Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor. Weighing a mere 2.6 pounds, this ultra-mobile laptop is quipped with an ergonomically designed keyboard that’s 20 per cent smaller than its full-sized counterparts, but just as functional. The Wind laptop comes with Intel’s 945GMS, 1GB DDR2/ 667MHz memory, a 2.5-inch 80GB hard drive, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth capabilities, three USB ports and a 4-in-1 card reader. Equipped with Windows operating system, the Wind laptop will be available on June 16 at a retail price of $499. If you’re looking for Linux, the Wind with the alternate OS laptop will retail for $399, but you’ll have to wait until later this summer. MSI

New Ultra-Mobile Laptops to Look Out For – Asus Eee PC 1000 Laptop, Dell “Mini-Inspiron” Laptop, Acer Aspire One Laptop
Word on the street is that a couple of little laptops will be making big news very soon.
Those of you who have been patiently awaiting the release of the Asus Eee PC 901 will have something else to look forward to. Asus will reportedly be releasing the 10.6-inch Asus Eee PC 1000 ultra-mobile laptop alongside its 901 model, on June 3 at 2008 Computex. Asus

Another ultraportabe that will be making an appearance is the new Dell “Mini-Inspiron” ultra-mobile laptop. Aside from this laptop’s good looks, the 8.9-inch Mini-Inspiron laptop will come with the choice of Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux, an 8-in-1 card reader, built-in webcam, direct media playback buttons, and wireless access options. Beyond that, details are still scarce, but expect this laptop later this year. More information on this sub-$500 ultra-mobile laptop should be released at Computex. Dell

Where low-cost laptops are concerned, the new Inventec V10 laptop does very well. Coming soon to China, the V10 laptop's super low price tag is accompanied by a 10.1-inch display, 1GHz VIA C3 processor, an upgradeable 128MB of RAM, a 20GB HDD, built-in Ethernet, and VGA, IR and two USB ports. Inventec is describing its new ultra-mobile laptop as a "refined and elegant design that brings the most comprehensive solution to professionals who demand functionality and cutting-edge performance." The Asus Eee laptop has yet another ultra-mobile laptop to compete with – the new Bestlink Alpha 400 laptop. Measuring 8.3 by 5.6 by 1.3 inches and tipping the scales at 1.5 pounds, the Alpha 400 laptop features a 32-bit XBurst 400MHz processor, 128MB RAM, up to 2GB of internal flash memory, SD memory card slot, USB connectivity, optional WiFi and a Linux operating system. The seven-inch true-color display delivers a resolution of 800 by 400 pixels, and the color is as true on the outside as it is in – the Alpha 400 laptop comes is a number of cool hues to choose from.
