World’s First 16.4-Inch Wide Multimedia Laptop - Sony Vaio FW Laptop
Sony has officially unveiled the world’s first 16.4-inch wide multimedia laptop – the new Sony Vaio FW laptop. Movie buffs will love the Vaio FW laptop for its extra-wide, LCD display boasting Sony’s patented XBRITE-HiColor technology, ideal for Blu-ray play in full 1,080 high-definition resolution. But if you prefer the big screen, this new multimedia laptop offers an HDMI output connector, allowing you to hook up to your HD TV set. The Vaio FW laptop comes in multiple configurations, powered by Intel’s new Centrino 2 chipset designed for high performance, quick responsiveness and energy efficiency. The laptop’s pre-installed entertainment software includes Vaio Movie Story, Vaio MusicBox and Click to Disc/ Editor software. The laptop also comes with slots, ports and jacks aplenty: Memory Stick media/SD card slot, three USB ports, an i.LINK IEEE-1394 port, microphone and headphone jack, a 34mm ExpressCard slot and integrated Wireless-N technology. This six-pound laptop comes in titanium gray and powder white. The Vaio FW laptop will be available later this month in standard configuration retailing for $1,000, or premium configuration for approximately $1,750. Sony.
